Puget Sound! I can't imagine living anywhere else.
Hi! My name's Brenda Robinson, I'm the owner and only groomer of WanderDog Mobile Grooming.
If you've come to this page you must be curious about the person you want to entrust with your dog.

Let me tell you a little about myself...
I was born in France (the child of an Army soldier), lived all over the United States and even Okinawa.
Dogs were my first love, followed quickly by horses. My favorite dog breed list is long and includes Collies, Dobermans, Papillons, Poodles and Border Terriers just to name a few...

Currently I have a one year old terrier mix, named Mason. We found him through the Puyallup Animal Rescue. He's been the best dog we've ever had. He's a perfect mix between "let's play" and "netflix & chill". He fit into our family like a puzzle piece, so his foster days are over.

In my past I've trained dogs in obedience competition, showed in the breed ring, and won grooming contests in classes such as 'Best Scissored Dog', 'Best Poodle', and 'People's Choice'. I attend grooming seminars and dog shows because I know there's still so much to learn.
In 2019 I spoke at the NW Grooming Show on Starting Puppies for a lifetime of Grooming, and also taught the same class at Groom Expo NW in Pasadena, CA  in Feb 2020.
My book titled "The Secret to Grooming Puppies; A Guide for Professional Dog Groomers" is available on Amazon Kindle books and will soon be out in paperback.

Years ago I fell into grooming purely by accident after taking a job bathing dogs at a local salon. I bathed/groomed there for three years and when that job ended, I was lucky enough to spend the next five years under the teaching and guidance of two of the finest Certified Master Groomers in the State. Nancy Maring (Love on a Leash in Edgewood), and Joan Hoskin (currently retired). After grooming for eight years, I took a long hiatus (eighteen years) from grooming to raise my children, run my own retail store and write freelance for Newspapers and Magazines. I continued to hold classes, show and train dogs for obedience and personal protection during that time, so I never fully left the world of dogs.
I came back to grooming in 2006 with new patience derived from my age, and a fresh love of the art. Having worked with my autistic daughter I also brought an understanding of tactile sensations and sensory input that I didn't possess in my younger years. I 'get it' when dogs are overloaded with stimuli, and I understand what they need to make them feel safe. That's the reason I've gone to mobile grooming. I simply want to reduce the amount of noise and stress dogs have to endure in a regular shop environment. Many dogs do fine, but many do not. My main concern is always the well-being of the dog in my care.
My motto is First - Do No Harm.

I'm blessed to live in the NE Tacoma area with my husband and two children. On my off days I love painting, rehabbing furniture, crochet, photography, and visiting the ocean beaches. All I need is a good mocha coffee and a view of the water and I'm as happy as a clam in the sand.
I currently have a one year old rescue dog named Mason. You can follow along with his silly antics on Instagram. Search for MasonB.Jarr

I hope you feel confident enough to entrust me with the care and grooming of your furry family member. I look forward to getting to know you and your dog as an extended part of my family, and becoming your 'other hair dresser'.

Thank you for visiting,
Sincerely,
Brenda Robinson
