Years ago I fell into grooming purely by accident after taking a job bathing dogs at a local salon. I bathed/groomed there for three years and when that job ended, I was lucky enough to spend the next five years under the teaching and guidance of two of the finest Certified Master Groomers in the State. Nancy Maring (Love on a Leash in Edgewood), and Joan Hoskin (currently retired). After grooming for eight years, I took a long hiatus (eighteen years) from grooming to raise my children, run my own retail store and write freelance for Newspapers and Magazines. I continued to hold classes, show and train dogs for obedience and personal protection during that time, so I never fully left the world of dogs.
I came back to grooming in 2006 with new patience derived from my age, and a fresh love of the art. Having worked with my autistic daughter I also brought an understanding of tactile sensations and sensory input that I didn't possess in my younger years. I 'get it' when dogs are overloaded with stimuli, and I understand what they need to make them feel safe. That's the reason I've gone to mobile grooming. I simply want to reduce the amount of noise and stress dogs have to endure in a regular shop environment. Many dogs do fine, but many do not. My main concern is always the well-being of the dog in my care.
My motto is First - Do No Harm.

I'm blessed to live in the NE Tacoma area with my husband and two children. On my off days I love painting, rehabbing furniture, crochet, photography, and visiting the ocean beaches. All I need is a good mocha coffee and a view of the water and I'm as happy as a clam in the sand.
I hope you feel confident enough to entrust me with the care and grooming of your furry family member. I look forward to getting to know you and your dog as an extended part of my family, and becoming your 'other hair dresser'.
Thank you for visiting,
Sincerely,
Brenda Robinson
